Bishkek, Aug. 14, 2018 /Kabar/. The International Labour Organization (ILO) representatives told participants of the Third Jash Bulak Educational Youth Forum Camp about the basics of entrepreneurship, the youth’s role in protecting and promoting labor rights. The forum took place in Ton region, Issyk-Kul oblast, in Aug. 2018 with the support of UN agencies, including the International Labor Organization. Among the participants were young people at the age of 18-28, youth leaders and representatives from government bodies. The forum-camp’s goal was creation of a motivational and educational platform aimed at enhancing the youth’s capacity, developing social responsibility and establishing citizenship for the development of the society they live in. “Measures on improving the protection of child labor helps achieving Sustainable Development Goal № 8 and are beneficial in two ways: they ensure safety and maintain health of young employers, reduce the number of children undertaking harmful child labor. Addressing these issues requires joint efforts from government bodies, employers, employees, and the organizations they work in, as well as other parties concerned,” the ILO projects coordinator in Kyrgyzstan, Amina Kurbanova, said. During the sessions the ILO representatives discussed with the participants of the forum the youth’s activities and realization of social initiatives in promoting and protecting labor rights, elimination of the worst kinds of child labor, matters of employment with the view that future leaders recognize their responsibility in creating a favorable environment for the country’s growth, providing jobs, and observance of social justice. The International Labor Organization (ILO) is a special agency of the UN system, which aims at promoting principles of social justice, internationally recognized human rights and rights in the field of labor.
