Bishkek, Aug. 18, 2018. / Kabar /. The 7th meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council was concluded on Friday in the city of Astana ( Kazakhstan). The meeting was chaired by Prime Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Mukhammedkaliy Abylgaziev and Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhytzhan Sagintayev. Following the meeting, the parties signed the Protocol of the 7th Meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakhstan Intergovernmental Council. In addition, a Protocol was signed to amend the Agreement between the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan on border crossing points on December 29, 2003. Based on this document, changes have been made to the operation mode of the Ken-Bulun Road and Tokmok Avtodorozhny checkpoints, which were bilateral checkpoints. As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Economy of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The agreement reflects all the topical issues of economic cooperation between the two countries and recorded the growth of mutual trade turnover. Recall that the governments of the two countries set the task of bringing the volume of trade to $1 billion. The document also reflects the interaction on the use of water resources, in the field of veterinary and phytosanitary security and many other topical issues. The next 8th meeting of the Intergovernmental Council of Kyrgyzstan-Kazakhstan will be held in 2019 in Bishkek. Read more
