Bishkek, Oct. 19, 2018. /Kabar/. The 5th round of intergovernmental negotiations between Kyrgyzstan and the European Union on the draft of a new Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement (Kyrgyzstan-EU EPCA) took place on October 17-18, 2018 in Brussels. The delegation of the Kyrgyz Republic was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic Abdrakhmanov, the EU delegation was headed by Director of the Directorate for Russia, Eastern Partnership, Central Asia, Regional Cooperation and OSCE at the European External Action Service Luc Devin, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported. During the meeting, the sides noted that negotiations on the Kyrgyzstan-EU are held constructively with a good pace, which involves the possibility to find compromise options to a number of complex issues of principle and the need for the parties to continue working in the same dynamics. Abdrakhmanov expressed gratitude to the European side for holding this round and noted that during the meeting between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Jeenbekov and new head of the EU Delegation to Kyrgyzstan Eduard Auer, among other issues of cooperation between the Kyrgyz Republic and the EU, the issue of concluding the new EPCA between Kyrgyzstan and EU in 2019, which is included in the priority directions of foreign policy of the Kyrgyz Republic, was discussed.
