Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Ex-Vice Rector of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Andrei Zybkin held a master class on the topic: “Copyright and New Possibilities of Modern Electronic Book industry” in Bishkek in the Imperial conference hall of the DOSTUK Hotel from 10-12 October. The organizers of such a topical and informative event about new opportunities for Kyrgyz authors in the modern digital world were the National Union of Writers of the Kyrgyz Republic and the representative office of Konrad Adenauer Foundation in Central Asia, the press secretary of the National Union of Writers Dzhumahun Sharipov told. Opening the master class, in a welcoming speech, the people's poet, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic, Chairman of the National Union of Writers Akbar Ryskulov spoke about the creative focus of the Writers' Union in the field of growth of readers among young people, continuity and growth of young literary talent, as well as the possibilities of translation works as a progressive tool in promoting Kyrgyz literature, authors, ideas and technologies in other countries. The writers’ audience at the master class was represented by a mixed-age category of famous literary figures of the country - poets, writers, journalists, translators writing in Kyrgyz and Russian. Experienced teacher Andrei Zybkin from Moscow, leading the master class, scientifically and at the same time comprehensively told the audience the basics of copyright in book publishing, the basic concepts of an electronic library, the world book market, copyright infringements of literary works in the digital environment and the peculiarities of selling literary works via the Internet. He covered deeply and informatively, in a professional language the issues of transferring copyright to publishers and intermediaries; legal and financial aspects of selling e-books in Russia; how to publish and realize a free book accessible to the whole world; pricing policy of electronic libraries and the content of the contract with them; text formats. Andrey Zybkin was fascinatingly told about the new possibilities of authors in electronic libraries and the LitRes, Amazon, Ozon, Apple Book Store and other publishing houses; developing a marketing strategy and selecting a target audience and genre; most «sold» topics; promotion through social networks, blogs, forums, mobile libraries, exhibitions and much more. Folk writers Melis Abakirov and Asan Zhakshylykov, Executive Secretary of the National Union of Writers Zhyldyz Akayeva, writers Bubur Bektenov warmly thanked the teacher from Russia for his informative master classes, and Nurgul Mambetaliyeva dedicated her new poems in Russian to him.
