Today's processes in Central Asia and the Chinese One Belt One Road Initiative can be complementary, Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies of the Kyrgyz Republic Kuvanychbek Shadybekov told in an exclusive interview with a Kabar correspondent during an international conference «Interconnectedness in Central Asia: Challenges and New Opportunities» in Tashkent. In his opinion, these infrastructure projects improve the quality of life of the population living in the region and, in this regard, the most important thing is to find common ground throughout this initiative in order to maintain the interests of all countries that are on the way of this initiative. “At today's conference, we have been discussing not only inter-humanitarian cooperation, but also infrastructure cooperation, economic projects, transport logistics issues. In my opinion, in this matter, in this area, this Chinese initiative could have a very serious impetus for all integration processes that are present in Central Asia and along the entire Silk Road route in a new historical condition,” the Kyrgyz expert concluded.
