Bishkek, Jan. 23, 2019. /Kabar/. Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Altynay Omurbekova held a working meeting on the creation of an electronic database of children in difficult life situations, the press service of the Government Office reported. Altynay Omurbekova noted that in order to promptly intervene and address various issues, there is a need to create the above-mentioned electronic database that will allow to keep records and promptly assist children brought up in the absence of parents, children with disabilities, as well as in cases of ill-treatment and violence against them. She said that the data on such children collected during inspections from the district headquarters to prevent violence against children should also be integrated with the electronic database. «Protecting children in difficult life situations involves provision of comprehensive services, and therefore the database should be accessible to ministries and departments in the field of social protection, education, health, internal affairs bodies and registration service, interacting with children,» Altynay Omurbekov said. At the same time, she stressed that in developing the module of the electronic database, it is necessary to take into account ensuring the confidentiality of children's data and access to them only by certain state bodies. “It is necessary to provide for a specific regulation of interdepartmental cooperation in the framework of information exchange in order to form a database of children in difficult life situations and provide relevant services to children,” the Vice Prime Minister said. In this regard, Altynay Omurbekova instructed to promptly form an interdepartmental working group to develop the concept of an integrated database of children in difficult life situations. Read more
