Within the framework of participation of the parliamentary delegation of Kyrgyzstan in the events dedicated to the celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Azerbaijani Parliament, the bilateral meeting of Kyrgyz Parliament Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov with chairman of Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Oktay Asadov was held. During the meeting, Dzhumabekov thanked his colleague for the invitation and warm welcome and cordially congratulated the Chairman and all the deputies of the Milli Majlis on this significant event for the entire Azerbaijani people - the 100th anniversary of the Parliament. Dzhumabekov emphasized that the history of statehood of Azerbaijan is closely connected with the development of the institution of people's representation and democracy, the rise of the national spirit and self-consciousness. At the same time he expressed his deep conviction that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan are brothers in spirit and faithful partners in the international arena. «It is gratifying that the two fraternal peoples are united in their desire to strengthen and develop traditional friendly ties,» said the Kyrgyz Speaker. Concerning the development of inter-parliamentary cooperation, the sides drew attention to the need to intensify the interaction of parliamentary friendship groups and agreed on the implementation of mutual visits. The interlocutors also exchanged views on the further activities of the TurkPA and the upcoming 8th plenary meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly in November this year in the city of Izmir (Turkey).
