Two weeks after being ordered to stay away from his wife, a 48-year-old man this morning was back in court once again on Wednesday to face domestic violence charges.The man, who works as a gardener, was accused of threatening and insulting his wife, as well as making her fear that violence was going to be used against her. He was also charged with damaging the door of her home and breaching a protection order in her favour issued by another court on November 27. The latter case was also related to domestic violence, and the man was supposed to receive anger management treatment. Inspector Hubert Cini said that the latest incident happened on Tuesday afternoon when the man turned up at his wife’s residence in Paola. He was arrested a couple of hours later at his daughter’s shop.Legal aid lawyer Joe Ellis requested bail on the grounds that the only evidence against his client was the woman’s report. Furthermore, he noted that she had already been granted a protection order, and consequently, there were little chance that the accused would approach her.
