The Malta National Electromobility Platform within Transport Malta is holding a number of initiatives and activities to mark the European Mobility Week being held between September 16 and 22. The theme for this year’s edition is “Multimodality – Mix and Move”. It is aimed to encourage the exploration of the many transport options and see which modes suited one’s particular journey. National Bicycle Ride on September 21 The fifth edition of the National Bicycle Ride is on September 21. Registration is free of charge and will open at 8am at the parking area in front of the Transport Ministry. The ride will start from the same spot at 8.30am and will finish at about 11.30am at the same place. The riders will be accompanied by a number of electric vehicles provided by Transport Malta. Participants will be given a free T-shirt and the opportunity to win a lottery for a financial grant to purchase an electric bicycle and cycling equipment. National Car Free Day on September 22 National Car Free Day will be on September 22 in Sliema and Gżira between 10am and 4pm, when cars will make way for pedestrians.
