The delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh headed by Speaker Dastanbek Dzhumabekov took part in the events dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, which took place on Nov. 11-12 at the Triumphal Arch in Paris with the participation of the heads of more than 60 states. Within the framework of these events, a brief meeting of Dzhumabekov with French President Emmanuel Macron took place, during which the Kyrgyz Speaker delivered a message from President Sooronbay Jeenbekov to his French counterpart. Dzhumabekov said that President Jeenbekov accepted an invitation from Macron to visit France, which is scheduled for 2019. In turn, Macron expressed his gratitude to the Kyrgyz side for participating in events so important for France. Also, a delegation of the Jogorku Kenesh headed by Dzhumabekov took part in the Paris Peace Forum. During one of the plenary sessions of the forum, Dzhumabekov handed over to the library of the world a collection of works by Chyngyz Aitmatov in eight volumes. “Aitmatov is an outstanding writer and great thinker of the Kyrgyz people, whose works are imbued with the spirit of unity and peace. His rich spiritual heritage and moral guidance serve us as a compass on the path to the future. I am glad that these pearls of Kyrgyz and world literature will replenish the fund of the library of the world,”said Dzhumabekov. Read more
