Impozitarea caselor și terenurilor după valoarea de piață, amânată. De ce nu va fi aplicat noul sistem de la 1 ianuarie 2027
Romania has postponed the switch to taxing homes and land at their market value, and the system will not come into force on 1 January 2027. Interim Finance Minister Alexandru Nazare made the announcement on Monday, 19 October, after hearings in the parliamentary committees wrapped up. Owners will stay on the existing framework, which prices property tax off standard valuations instead of a real appraisal. The delay leaves open the question of when, or in what form, the reform will actually arrive. A market-based tax would raise bills in expensive districts and trim them where property is cheap, which is exactly what made the plan divisive. Local budgets lean on property taxation, so any reshuffle of the formula has knock-on effects for councils. For now, the 2027 date is off the table, and the legislature will have to return to the model before anything changes.
