Tajikistan and Armenia are moving to strengthen their cooperation on protecting and restoring ecosystems and on monitoring biodiversity. The contacts took place in Yerevan, where the 17th session of the Conference of the Parties to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD COP17) is being held. A delegation from Tajikistan traveled to the Armenian capital to take part in the session. On its sidelines, the head of Tajikistan's Committee for Environmental Protection met with Armenian counterparts in the environment sector. The talks centered on joint work in ecosystem restoration and biodiversity monitoring, themes that sit at the heart of the convention's agenda. Officials used the meeting to build stronger bilateral ties between the two environmental institutions. Khovar, Tajikistan's state news agency, reported the development from Dushanbe on 19 October 2026.
