Jan Nowinowski of the Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW) draws a parallel between what is happening in Serbia and Poland in 1989, and he hopes the country does not spoil the moment. At the same time, he cautions that the Student List, which won the elections in Serbia, is not a liberal, pro-European movement. In his view, the vote should not be read as a straightforward turn toward liberal, Europe-friendly politics.
