Chile's finance ministry is set to lower its 2026 GDP forecast after a sharp drop in the July economic activity index. Former finance minister Mario Marcel said economist Jorge Quiroz jumped the gun by calling June a turning point. The current finance chief responded quickly, insisting they didn't get ahead of themselves.
El exministro de Hacienda, Mario Marcel, afirmó que Jorge Quiroz se adelantó en señalar que la economía tuvo un punto de inflexión en junio. La respuesta de actual jefe de la billetera fiscal no se dejó esperar y añadió que "no nos adelantamos".
