Moroccan Justice Minister Abdellatif Ouahbi has called for an end to the selective annual readings of September 11's history. Speaking to Hespress, he pointed to Santiago, Chile, where the same date in 1973 brought the coup against President Salvador Allende and cost thousands of lives. Commemorating one set of victims while ignoring the other, he argued, amounts to choosing whose suffering counts. He described the position as an approach he has defended before.
