Maranatha Academy has pledged a fresh K50 million to Zokonda Amai, one of the most popular shows on the Malawi Broadcasting Corporation. The school's director, Ernest Kaonga, made the announcement at a ceremony in MBC's Broadcasting House in Chichiri, Blantyre. The funding goes to this year's edition of the programme, which has kept a strong following among Malawian audiences. Kaonga confirmed that the sum comes through a four-year partnership between the academy and the broadcaster. Zokonda Amai is known for using the station's airwaves to rally help for causes that reach ordinary households. With the money secured, the programme can plan its activities over the coming months. The academy framed the move as a reaffirmation of its support for MBC's work.
