MHP lideri Bahçeli: İmralı'da villa diye bir şey yok
MHP leader Devlet Bahçeli has stepped in to explain his earlier comments about a new residence prepared for Abdullah Öcalan on İmralı Island. He rejects the villa label outright and considers the description misleading. 'There is no such thing as a villa,' he said, clarifying that what was built there is a dwelling of 250 square metres. He also pointed out that the structure sits within the boundaries of the prison complex on the island, a detail he argued changes how the construction should be read. His statement follows earlier remarks in which he indicated that fresh accommodation was being made ready for the jailed PKK leader, comments that set off a wave of public debate. During the same appearance he addressed the presidential election as well, laying out his view of the contest. Because any alteration to Öcalan's conditions draws attention across Turkish politics, Bahçeli's precise wording was watched closely.
MHP Genel Başkanı Devlet Bahçeli, daha önce yaptığı Öcalan için İmralı Adası'nda yeni bir konut hazırlandığı yönündeki açıklamalarına ilişkin değerlendirmede bulundu. Söz konusu yapının villa olmadığını söyledi. "Villa diye bir şey yok. 250 metrekarelik bir konut yapıldı. Zaten bu konut cezaevi yerleşkesi içerisindedir." dedi. Bahçeli, cumhurbaşkanlığı seçimi için de konuştu.
