“Do të kemi aeroport edhe për flamingot”, Rama: Në Zvërnec, investimi më i madh turistik në Evropë
Prime Minister Edi Rama pitched Albania as a rising destination for luxury travel during his appearance at the Euronews 2026 summit. He pointed to Zvërnec as the site of the biggest single tourism investment in Europe and quipped that the country would soon have an airport "even for the flamingos". According to Rama, the state wants to set the conditions for high-end tourism rather than carry every project on its own books. Foreign capital and joint ventures, alongside public-private partnerships, were the financing routes he listed for getting the projects built. The message to international investors was that Albania is open for business and ready to move beyond its budget-tourism image. Rama's remarks come as the government tries to attract established hotel brands and compete with more mature Mediterranean destinations.
