Buenos Aires city authorities have formally pressed the automobile club ACA to restore the original totem at its Avenida del Libertador headquarters. The Urban Development Secretariat argues the sign is protected and that the club never requested the permit needed to replace it. ACA has countered that it swapped out the old totem because the original posed safety risks.
La Secretaría de Desarrollo Urbano argumenta que está protegido y la empresa no solicitó el permiso correspondiente. Desde el ACA habían explicado que habían decidido el reemplazo porque el viejo tótem presentaba riesgos de seguridad.
