The Ministry of Interior announced the resolution of a cold case involving a baby found dead in a vacant lot in 2010. The incident occurred in the Onikişubat district of Kahramanmaraş. Authorities arrested a suspect named R.Ş., along with a spouse and a mother-in-law. During questioning, R.Ş. admitted to leaving the child in the field near the home. This action was taken immediately after birth because the baby was a girl. The suspect stated that the mother-in-law had pressured this decision. The infant had been wrapped in a piece of cloth.

Soruşturmada şüpheli R.Ş., eşi İ.Ş. ve kayınvalidesi D.Ş. yakalandı. Soruşturma kapsamında alınan ifadede R.Ş., doğan bebeğin kız olması ve kayınvalidesinin baskısı nedeniyle bebeği doğumdan hemen sonra bir bez parçasına sararak evinin yakınındaki boş araziye bıraktığını itiraf etti
