Yemeni scholars and preachers gathered in Medina stressed the importance of strengthening the role of scholars and religious and scientific institutions in confronting Houthi extremist thought. They warned about its dangers to society and called for protecting generations from deviant ideas, hate speech and violence. They also urged unifying preaching and awareness efforts and promoting moderation and balance. The gathering underscored the need to raise religious and intellectual awareness.
