UN Secretary-General António Guterres hopes the latest visits by American envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner to Russia and Ukraine will revive talks on a peaceful settlement and an immediate ceasefire. His spokesman, Stéphane Dujarric, made the point at a Tuesday press briefing. Dujarric added that Guterres encourages the recent diplomatic efforts. The United Nations has repeatedly pushed for a negotiated end to the fighting.
