Dr Adam Coutts, a 48-year-old Cambridge lecturer, will not go to jail over a drunken outburst on a British Airways flight. He called fellow passenger Hammad Aziz a 'jihadist' and told him to shave his beard, and at one point suggested he blow himself up. The rant came after Mr Aziz stepped in to mediate between Coutts and another traveller. Despite the nature of the abuse, Coutts avoided a custodial sentence.
