VVI brengt gevaarlijke wegen in Suriname in kaart
Suriname's Traffic Safety Institute is mapping the stretches of road where accidents pile up. Its data puts the Indira Gandhiweg, the Martin Luther Kingweg and the Garnizoenspad among the country's most dangerous routes. The Ministry of Public Works and Regional Development has hired engineering firms to investigate the hazardous locations. Cameras will record traffic flows and risky situations, with speed, lighting, visibility, road markings and pedestrian crossings all part of the review.
