A forest fire that broke out over the weekend near the village of Sabaneta, in the Lara parish of Pedro León Torres municipality, has put residents of the highland area on maximum alert. With the flames advancing out of control, farmers have resorted to sprinkler pumps and moved their cattle out of the fire's path. People in the zone are keeping a close watch as the blaze keeps spreading.
