46 non-compliant devices seized during active mobility enforcement operations in August: LTA
A total of 46 non-compliant active mobility devices were seized during various enforcement operations conducted in August, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said on Thursday (Sept 10).During the operations, active mobility enforcement officers also detected some 231 offences, the authority added in its Facebook post. "We will continue to take firm action against errant active mobility users, alongside engagement and education efforts, to keep public paths safe for all."Photographs of the operations shared by LTA show several personal mobility devices (PMD), including an e-bicycle which appears to have been modified.A number of cyclists, including some from a group seen on video being chased by traffic police officers in the wee hours of Aug 14 along West Coast Avenue, are also seen in one photograph.That day, a fixed-gear bicycle, commonly referred to as a fixie, was seized. Fixed-gear bicycles without at least one functioning handbrake are not allowed on roads and footpaths.
