Barthley-Cochrane named CIBC Caribbean’s 2026 Unsung Hero
A Princess Margaret School teacher has picked up a regional honour for work that never sought attention. Vincere Barthley-Cochrane was named CIBC Caribbean's 2026 Unsung Hero at a ceremony on Tuesday, September 8. Her commitments stretch well past the school day. She leads a Girl Guides group and spends evenings coaching netball, hours most people keep for themselves. On receiving the award, she remarked that people who serve others rarely think about who is watching or whether recognition will come. That outlook sits at the heart of what the Unsung Hero award tries to catch. CIBC Caribbean hands out the honour each year, and the 2026 edition put a public face on quiet community work. The evening closed with a floral tribute, a small gesture beside years of service.
