Twenty-five years after the attack on the World Trade Center, the notes Ari Fleischer took that day still read as harrowing. Most were written aboard Air Force One as George W. Bush traveled, when Fleischer served as the president's press secretary. He said he always keeps notes as part of his job, but September 11, 2001 made clear how much it mattered to record the president's exact words and actions. One entry reads simply, "someone will pay."
