Yucatán is holding its place as the safest state in Mexico, with new figures showing a drop in the rate of crime victims. Perception data backs that up: 64.5 percent of residents said they feel safe living in the state, while 35.5 percent still consider it insecure. Officials point to the numbers as evidence that security efforts are holding. Even so, more than a third of those surveyed remain uneasy.
