Accreditation: ASUU kicks against ministerial committee
ASUU has asked Education Minister Tunji Alausa to dissolve the newly inaugurated Ministerial Committee on Strengthening Accreditation and Quality Assurance Systems for Tertiary Institutions. The union's objection is aimed at the committee itself rather than the ministry's tougher stance on accreditation fraud. ASUU backed the decision to sanction universities caught temporarily presenting borrowed lecturers, equipment and other facilities during accreditation exercises.
The Academic Staff Union of Universities has urged the Minister of Education, Dr Tunji Alausa, to dissolve the newly inaugurated Ministerial Committee on Strengthening Accreditation and Quality Assurance Systems for Tertiary Institutions.
