FG to train 250,000 unqualified teachers
Nigeria's Federal Government has begun preparations for a six-month programme to train 250,000 serving teachers who lack recognised teaching qualifications. The National Teachers' Institute said on Friday that it has been mandated to coordinate the effort, known as the Accelerated Teacher Professionalisation Pathway. The institute will work under the supervision of Education Minister Dr Tunji Alausa. The goal is to professionalise teachers already working in classrooms who never earned formal credentials.
