Iran has asked Russia to supply upgraded Shahed drones, according to the Financial Times. Centralized production in Russia has let manufacturers tweak the drones and bring new models into service quickly. The design began as an Iranian export, but the manufacturing shift has handed Moscow the running on improvements. Any upgraded versions would add to a drone type already used extensively over Ukraine.
