Man, 62, found dead at bottom of Toa Payoh block climbed out of window during CNB operation
A 62-year-old man who was found dead at the foot of a Toa Payoh HDB block on Monday (Aug 31) had fallen from a residential unit while Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) officers were conducting an anti-drug operation.The man was found motionless at the foot of Block 205 Toa Payoh North at about 2.05pm and was pronounced dead at the scene.In response to queries from AsiaOne, CNB said its officers had visited a residential unit at the block at about 2pm as part of an anti-drug operation."Before CNB officers could gain access to the unit, the Singaporean man was seen climbing out of the window and subsequently fell from the unit," a CNB spokesperson said.Drug paraphernalia were recovered from the unit, CNB added.A photograph of the scene seen by AsiaOne showed a blue police tent placed over the body beneath a stack of flats near a games court. Police had also cordoned off part of the ground-floor area.Based on preliminary investigations, police do not suspect foul play. Investigations are ongoing.[[nid:744094]]
