Belarus's Day of National Unity may be the youngest state holiday in the country, but it is the one that binds people of every nationality into a single people, according to Mecheslav Lysy. The chairman of the Union of Poles in Belarus made the point at a round table in the House of Press titled 'Multinational Belarus: independence preserved through unity.' He presented the date as proof that the country's many communities stand together.
