A parliamentarian from the NCP has predicted a fresh round of defections in West Bengal politics. He claimed that 17 rebel Trinamool Congress parliamentarians will cross over to the BJP either before the Puja festivities or soon after them. If it holds, the shift would mark one of the larger blocks of TMC lawmakers to switch sides at once. The TMC has not confirmed the claim.
