Western Cape murders fall, but rape, kidnapping and vehicle theft rise

Western Cape community-reported serious crime fell 4.3% in April-June 2026, while murders declined by 6.7%. Rape, kidnapping and motor-vehicle theft increased during the first quarter of the 2026/27 financial year.
