GPL operating on razor-thin reserve
Former public infrastructure minister David Patterson says Guyana Power and Light is running the national grid on a razor-thin spinning reserve. He warned that leaves the system exposed to failures and cascading blackouts if a generator trips. Patterson also claimed some generators have been pushed past their maintenance deadlines. He made the remarks during a recent episode of the talk show Sources.
