Islamic Military Coalition, UK to expand counterterrorism cooperation

LONDON — Secretary General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition (IMCTC) Maj. Gen.Mohammed Al-Moghedi met with UK Defense Senior Advisor to the Middle East and North Africa Vice Admiral Edward Ahlgren at the UK Ministry of Defense headquarters in London on Wednesday.The meeting was part of the coalition’s efforts to combat terrorism and strengthen partnerships with countries and international organizations. The two sides explored opportunities to strengthen cooperation in areas of mutual interest and enhance coordination in support of international efforts to combat terrorism and extremism. They also discussed evolving security challenges and ways to build capabilities in related fields.Their discussions highlighted the importance of coordinating efforts, sharing expertise, and building capabilities. The two sides also stressed the need to expand cooperation and effective partnerships among countries and relevant organizations amid rapid changes in the international security environment. Al-Moghedi is holding a series of meetings in the UK to strengthen the IMCTC’s international role and expand its network of counterterrorism partnerships. The engagements support the coalition’s mission to coordinate efforts, build capabilities, and promote security and stability.
