Slovakia is still handing out short-term visas to Russian citizens, tourist visas among them. Deputy parliament speaker Tibor Gašpar confirmed the practice in an interview with the Izvestia newspaper. He said the country never imposed a full suspension on visa issuance for Russians. Slovakia therefore remains outside the group of EU states that have barred Russian tourists outright.
