CPF extends 4% interest floor rate on Special, Medisave and Retirement accounts till end-2027

Interest rates for the various Central Provident Fund (CPF) accounts — Special, Medisave and Retirement Accounts (SMRA) — will remain at the 4 per cent interest rate floor till the end of 2027, with interest rates remaining unchanged for the coming quarter."This extension of the floor rate will continue to help members grow their retirement savings, providing them with certainty on their CPF returns amidst the uncertain economic and interest rate environment," the Central Provident Fund (CPF) Board and Housing and Development Board (HDB) said in a joint news release on Tuesday (Sept 22).Explaining the unchanged SMRA rate for the quarter, the agencies noted that the SMRA pegged rate remains below the floor rate of 4 per cent.SMRA interest rate is pegged to the 12-month average yield of 10-year Singapore Government Securities, plus 1 per cent, which was 3.06 per cent from Aug 2025 to Jul 2026. OA interest rate unchangedMeanwhile, the Ordinary Account (OA) interest rate will remain unchanged at the floor rate of 2.5 per cent per annum from Oct 1 to Dec 30, as the OA pegged rate remains below the floor rate of 2.5 per cent.
