Engineers at the Russian design bureau Aviastroitel have patented a device that lets Mi-2 and Mi-8 helicopters fly with no pilot on board. According to the developers, the system has not stayed on paper: it has already been put to successful use. TASS reported the development from Moscow on September 3. The patent covers both the light Mi-2 and the much larger Mi-8 transport helicopter.
