Paul Breitner remains convinced that one story will follow him to the end of his life: the penalty he scored in the 1974 World Cup final against the Netherlands. The former Germany international jokes that he would not be surprised if someone appeared at his bedside in his final days and asked him to tell it once more. He suspects the question keeps coming back because of everything that kick came to mean. Even now, decades later, the requests to hear it again have not stopped.
