Tim Cook leaves a $4.5 trillion Apple with Africa still on the sidelines

Tim Cook will become Apple’s executive chairman on 1 September 2026, with John Ternus succeeding him as CEO. During Cook’s tenure, Apple became one of the world’s most valuable companies, but its direct retail presence in Africa remains limited.
