$1.6M worth of copper cable stolen from Demerara River bridge
Police in Guyana are investigating the theft of copper cable worth about $1.6 million from the Bharrat Jagdeo Demerara River Bridge. Roughly 90 feet of 4/350 KCMIL cable was taken, leaving LED lights on the southern side of the bridge without power Monday evening. An electrical maintenance engineer discovered the cables missing. No suspects have been named.
