A historian argues that Zimbabwe's borders were drawn by con-men, and that the country paid for it with territory. Fanuel Viriri lists Francistown, wide hunting grounds and islands at Victoria Falls as land that was once Zimbabwean but ended up on the other side of the line. By his count, Zimbabwe kept four of the islands at the falls while Zambia took seven. The claims come from a 2017 article recirculated by The Zambian Observer.
