Khuba Traders takes agricultural knowledge to farmers
Khuba Traders and its partners turned Butter nice Farm at Kakholwane into the centre of the farming calendar last Wednesday. The occasion was a Farmers Day set up to bring agricultural knowledge, products and hands-on opportunities closer to emaSwati. Farmers from Kakholwane and its surrounding communities made up the bulk of the turnout, and the day also drew participants from further afield. Organisers put the emphasis on practical value, giving growers a direct look at methods they could apply on their own land. Suppliers and service providers were on hand, which gave farmers a rare chance to compare products and prices in one place. The organisers counted the day as a success and signalled their intent to keep running similar events. For the host farm, the gathering showed how one well-planned programme can connect a rural community with expertise that normally sits out of reach.
