A justice reform package moved forward in Kosovo's parliament after the Committee on Legislation gave its approval. The most watched measure is the draft law creating a State Bureau for the Verification and Confiscation of Unjustifiably Acquired Wealth. The committee cleared five other draft laws alongside it, all bundled into the same reform package. Justice Minister Donika Gërvalla welcomed the vote and described it as an important step. She said the six draft laws cover significant ground within the justice system. Once up and running, the bureau would be able to examine people whose visible wealth does not match declared income and seize what cannot be justified. The package now advances through the legislative process after clearing this early hurdle.
