Russian fans of Kanye West will not get to see the American rap star perform after all. The two concerts he had planned in the country have been called off. Word of the shows had gone out less than two months earlier and immediately caused a stir, with followers greeting the announcement with unusual excitement. That anticipation has now been buried. AFP reported the cancellation from Moscow. A visit by a Western artist of his standing would have been a rarity in Russia these days, which goes some way toward explaining the size of the reaction. The report did not say what led to the decision to scrap the dates.
