The suspended mayor of Görele in Giresun has had his prison sentence upheld on appeal. Hasbi Dede received one year and six months for sexually abusing a child, a ruling the appellate court has now confirmed. He had already been removed from his duties while the case moved forward. Once the process concerning his mayorship is completed, the Görele Municipal Council is expected to vote for a new mayor.
