Clare Museum's lecture series is back, and this edition turns to straw mummering traditions. Sessions trace an old custom in which performers, covered in straw, made rounds of local houses around the Christmas season, playing music and performing for the families inside. Visitors can expect local historians to explain where the practice came from and how it fit into life in Clare.
